Mars Wrigley Australia is launching paper-based packaging for all their chocolate bars.
👉 Background: Mars Wrigley are the masterminds behind some of our fav choccies, lollies and chewies. Think: Mars, M&Ms, Snickers, Skittles, Starburst, you name it. Since starting in 1911, Mars Wrigley has grown to operate in over 74 countries.
👉 What happened: Now, Mars Wrigley Australia is launching paper-based packaging for all their chocolate bars in the new year. That means you can actually dispose the wrappers that you’re trying to hide…in your kerbside recycle bin!
👉 What else: This move is expected to help eliminate more than 360 tonnes of plastic from Mars Wrigley’s supply chain. It will be rolling out in Australia first as a pilot before going global with the project.
💡Good product pilots can lead to even better profits. Companies usually test their new initiatives on a limited market to see if it’s likely to be successful with customers in other markets.
💡By launching in a specific geography, it helps companies manage their risk.
💡Australia is a seriously popular testing ground for new initiatives. Facebook, Spotify and Tinder have all tested new features on the Australian market before either scrapping them or launching them globally.
